Research in our lab revolves around an interest in understanding and modeling the hydrology and biogeochemistry of human-impacted systems in the Anthropocene
The Basu Lab at Waterloo is a diverse group of researchers utilizing tools from environmental science, engineering and the social sciences to explore water-related issues integral to the functioning of human-impacted systems. As part of our research, we ask the following types of questions:
July 23-26, 2018: Nandita is an invited speaker this week at the Sixth Interagency Conference on Research in Watersheds (ICRW) in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The conference will explore research and adaptive management approaches to meet challenges associates with landscape disturbance, nutrient and pollutant loading, hydrologic alterations, invasive species, etc.
June 2018: We're excited to announce that Fred won the AGU 2018 Horton (Hydrology) Research Grant to study reactive interfaces in agroecosystems. Congrats, Fred!
14 June 2018: Kim presented her work on landscape nutrient legacies at the 2018 Chesapeake Bay Modeling Symposium in Annapolis, MD!
11-14 June 2018: We sent our biggest conference contingent yet to the annual CGU Meeting! Fred won the CGU 2018 Award for Best Student Paper!
7 June 2018: Fred represented the Basu Lab at GRADTalks for Drinking Water at the University of Waterloo!
